Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Respectful,
I am very pleased that the Association of Election Officials in
Bosnia and Herzegovina has become a member of the Association of
Central and Eastern European Election Officials. This is an indicator
that our country is slowly but truly moving toward democratic changes,
opening up to the integration processes in this part of Europe and
the rest of the world.
On behalf of the BiH Presidency and myself I would like to forward
congratulations and recognition for your work and express my full
support to the activities of your Association and promotion of democratic
and fair elections.
The mentioned activities are very important for Bosnia and Herzegovina
which has seen hyper - production of elections since the Dayton
Agreement, unfortunately without an election law, but based upon
the Rules and Regulations of the Provisional Election Commission
(PEC).
Activities, which have lasted for several years, on the adoption
of BiH Election Law are coming to their end and they will result
in the final adoption of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina
by the BiH Parliamentary Assembly. Adoption of the Election Law
will lead Bosnia and Herzegovina a step closer to the Council of
Europe where it belongs, and will help this country be placed among
democratic countries of Europe and the world.
Finally, at the end of this letter, I congratulate you on the 10th
anniversary of your Association and I wish you fruitful and successful
work.
