ROUND TABLE ENTITLED "IMPLEMENTATION
OF ARTICLE 18.8, PAR.3
OF THE ELECTION LAW OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA"

Round table entitled "Implementation of Article 18.8, paragraph
3 of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina" organized
by the Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ECBiH) and
the Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina
(AEOBiH) was held on February 5, 2002 at the "Maršal"
hotel in Bjelašnica. This was the first round table in a series
that we plan to hold, which will address current issues from the
Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the round table held in Bjelašnica concrete steps for implementation
of Article 18.8 regulating voting right of illegal occupants were
discussed.
The round table also addressed the issue of using the database on
executive decisions of municipalities, courts and the Commission
for Real Property Claims of Refugees and Displaced Persons, the
way of registration of persons who are subject to this Article (automatically
for municipality from 1991 or in person re-registration), and category
of persons subject to this rule.
Participants of the round table in Bjelasnica included the Advisor
to the Minister for Human Rights of BiH, Minister of Refugees and
Displaced Persons RS, Deputy Minister for Management and Local Government
RS, Chief of Department for Refugees and Displaced Persons of Brcko
District, judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH, Secretary to
the Constitutional Court of RS, representatives of OHR, UNHCR, Ombudsmen
of the Federation of BiH, representatives of the Election Commission
of BiH and the Association of Election Officials in BiH.
